The House On Co Rd 500

The house on 500 is certainly familiar to anyone who spent a few evenings researching this case. In this posting, team members Blaze, Kai and Cruze break down the infamous house on 500 from a few angles.

Many have speculated that the blood found within this house had to have been associated with Amy Mihaljevic. In truth, only the FBI really knows the origin of the blood within it. We simply won’t speculate on the blood as we have no way of knowing what the FBI does in that regard. We will however give a breakdown of what is seen in the photos of the interior, exterior and what happened within this house. Team member Kai will also give expert analysis of the interior photos. Below each team member will share their thoughts and insights on the house itself

Blaze:

One of the things that bothers me most about this house is the mysterious burning of the structure. Authorities seem to be very tight-lipped about what occurred here. Rumors that the FBI themselves burned the dilapidated old house seem completely inconsistent with the investigation of possible evidence and furthermore beyond the scope of their practice. The FBI doesn’t go around burning structures they could possibly attain more evidence from. In most cases a condemned house is brought down with bulldozers and dump trucks, not by fire. Rumors of this house being burned down by the Fire Department for training don’t line up as well. When a house is burned for what is known as a “live burn” the house is prepped weeks in advance. The prepping process includes removal of all combustibles that can release a gas called phosgene. This is an extremely harmful gas that can kill people in relatively low concentration. Some of the combustibles that create phosgene are furniture, carpet and most textile based home components. In addition a roof hatch is cut in the peak of the roof and is usually attached to a long chain so that the structure can be vertically ventilated at the will of the training instructors and incident commanders. It is done to control smoke and heat conditions inside the structure so crews can go through their respective evolutions in a controlled manner. The EPA is also involved. A live controlled burn permit is required to burn a structure for training. Furthermore it is my opinion based on the condition of the structure, location and the fact that this house contained possible evidence that this house was not burned down by the Fire Department or FBI. There is no way this house gets the go ahead for a controlled live burn based on its location. Fires emit embers into the air, This house is in a wooded area. A controlled burn here could result in a wildland and woods fire very quickly. My synopsis is this: This house was Arson, burned by people wishing to cover something up or for shits and giggles. The evidence shows that no professional entity with the authority necessary to burn this house was involved.

Kai:

From an investigative standpoint, I see no evidence of cult rituals taking place here based on the photos alone. There are typically things left behind to show some sort of ritual had taken place here. Candles, matches, circle markings on the floor or satanic symbols. If they were there it would certainly catch the lens of the person who photographed this house from inside. One could assume that the blood markings are in fact a symbol of something. I do not believe that is the case here. If it is supposed to be, the blood markings were done in an amateur way by a party or person with no real knowledge of symbolic blood stamping. Typically you would see a pattern or formation. In this case it is a blood stamp in straight lines. One of things that does bother me from the photos is the use of dark garbage bags over the windows. This was obviously done for privacy and that begs the question of why? The house is in a secluded area. My synopsis after evaluating the photographic evidence: The house was either used by squatters and the bags on the windows were used to block sunlight or by teenagers using the house as a party house where they could drink alcohol and do drugs. However as I look at the flooring in the photos I do not see the evidence. Teenagers partying are likely going to leave lots of litter. They would not care about beer cans being thrown neatly into trash cans but maybe the same box of garbage bags was used to discard the litter as well so they wouldn’t get caught and lose their party house. The blood markings were most likely done by teenagers or people trying to act in a satanic way with a dead animal. There is no indication of any real knowledge into the occult or Satanism. I’m also wondering why the garage was not demolished. Something to ponder

Cruze:

I think first and foremost it should be said that no one on this team believes this is the place that Amy was killed. The house certainly has a history of being a party house amongst teenagers and I know squatters were there in that house. The FBI took bags of evidence and trash from this house, which included sections of cut out floor and walls. I differ slightly in opinion with Kai as stories of deer heads and whole deer hanging from trees and various other activities such as teens cutting themselves and slinging blood inside the house did occur here and human blood was certainly present as well as the animal blood. How the house burned remains unknown but I can add that during my research it was discovered that authorities entered the house to check on it as it was a known party house. The deputies involved started taking photos after discovering the blood. In 1990 there were no cell phone cameras or digital cameras. The deputies had to go back into town to get more film. When they had returned the house was either already burning or burnt down. They were returning to take more photos of what were believed to be Satanic crosses either scribed or marked into the walls or floor. My synopsis: Amy was not killed here even though it is geographically close to where her body was found. There was some strange and satanic stuff going on here but it had nothing to do with Amy.

Amy’s Autopsy

There has been much speculation and debate on the subject of Amy’s autopsy report and perhaps, rightfully so. We will share what we know to this point. It has been reported that both Ashland County and Cuyahoga County examined Amy’s body. On the Cuyahoga County website this is shown

Notice there is no mention of exsanguinating hemorrhage in this document

20180908_043953

Now on this document it is listed as the number one cause of death. Both documents are from Cuyahoga County.

20180909_041641

One of our team members is a medically trained professional with 18 years of emergency medical service experience. This is a Q&A with this professional in regards to the information provided in these two separate documents.

Q: What does exsanguinating hemorrhage mean?

A: It means enough blood has been lost to cause death. In the Fire Department we would refer to this as bleeding out. In arterial wounds such as this it only takes a small cut or puncture a few minutes to lose enough blood to cause death. If the bleeding is uncontrolled, death from an arterial wound of only 2.5mm can cause death in approximately 5 minutes. In this case there was what appears to be a much larger wound to the carotid artery.  Arteries carry oxygenated blood away from the heart to the body’s tissues. It is pressurized  as it is being pumped from the heart. As the heart beats the blood will pump out of any puncture or cut in the artery.

Q: Does a body have to lose all of its blood to cause death?

A: No, most average adult people carry about 5 litres of blood or roughly 1.5 gallons. This volume is less in a child. Death occurs after the body loses about 40% of its blood volume.

Q: Based on what is shown here in these autopsy summaries is it possible Amy lost that blood volume from the head injury itself? We have read that Amy may have lived up to 30 minutes after the injuries

A: Although head injuries do bleed profusely it is unlikely unless you had a massive injury with an open wound to the skull  such as a partial decapitation and this report does not indicate that this was present. In this situation it appears to be a blunt impact which in most cases produces severe hemorrhaging under the skin and epidural hematoma which means blood trapped between the skull and brain caused by broken blood vessels in the brain.

Q: Is it safe to say Amy was likely unconscious after she was struck?

A: Most likely

Q: If her neck wounds happened in sequence right after the blunt impact to her head, how long would you estimate Amy lived after?

A: She was likely unconscious after the impact and if I had to estimate based on experience, I would be comfortable with saying between 5 and 8 minutes.

Q: Can a body lose all of its blood from such injuries?

A: No because she would have died after 40% of her blood volume was lost. Once the heart stops the cardiac system is no longer  pumping blood through the wound. If you add another 10% postmortem bleeding her body would still contain 50% blood volume.

Q: Crime Watch indicated her body had been “drained” of blood. If that is true, how could her body have lost most or all of it’s blood?

A: The only answer is gravity and an opening to drain it.

Q: Hanging of the body with the wound being closest to the ground?

A: It doesn’t have to be hung, but if no other lacerations to the venous or arterial systems are noted in the autopsy then the only opening to the blood would be through the original wound. In this case in order to have lost enough blood to be considered as “drained” she would have had to have had her feet elevated high enough to have gravity force blood down through her body and out of the open original wounds.

Q: Is it possible the perpetrators who committed this murder had done that to Amy? What would be the point in that after she was already deceased?

A: Unfortunately yes it is possible. The reasons could include not wanting the body to bleed all over the crime scene, to keep a clean wrap on the body during transport to disposal site and perhaps even the thought that a body without blood that is stored somewhere for a period of time would produce less odor as it decomposes.

Q: What does the fact that both the impact wound and the stab wounds being on the left side of the neck and left lower head indicate to you?

A: When we are doing a patient assessment on a trauma patient one of the first things we try to ascertain in our initial assessment is called mechanism of injury. If I were to observe an area with trauma I would try to understand how it got there to understand how serious the injuries are. To me having both sets of wounds in one region of the body, this would indicate to me the possibility of a single event. In other words and in this case it is possible the impact wound and puncture wound came from a quick succession of blunt impacts with an uneven or odd shaped possibly broken object, like a glass or porcelain lamp. Now if her body was drained of all or most of its blood my thinking process would shift to two separate events with the stab wounds to the neck succeeding the blunt impact to her head. There would simply be no reason to strike the head after the stabbing of the neck. Of course all of this is subjective and based on so many different variables. The amount of struggle, angles of the two bodies in proximity to one another, the object or objects used to cause the injuries.

A possible theory:

She may have had her blood drained and her body washed. Her clothes were likely removed prior to the fatal injury. Some of us feel that she may have been sexually assaulted after the head injury but before the neck wounds. After this sick S.O.B had his way with her lifeless body she was washed then redressed. Here are some thoughts supporting this theory.

1) An effort to remove all body fluids including her blood and his demon spawned cowardly sperm. She may have had her blood drained in the same place of bathing her body.

2) Someplace with the ability to use copious amounts of water such as a bathtub in a motel. In this scenario the killer doesn’t want blood dragged throughout the room so he cleans her as best he can. Maybe it is here that both the curtain and blanket are used to wrap the body. The killer doesn’t want to use the top comforter as it will certainly be noticed as missing by housekeepers but perhaps only 1/2 the window coverings are used to be less obvious. Also within this scenario one of our members mentions this as the possible location of Amy’s boots and earrings. Which would line up with the Ziccardi letter stating that Amy’s belongings were seen in the basement of that motel. Perhaps that is where they stored their lost and found items. The Buick binder and backpack likely stayed inside the killer’s vehicle and they went with the car. The earrings may have come loose during the struggle and injury. The killer may not have even noticed that they had come out. The killer may have been in such a state of panic at this point that he doesn’t think of grabbing her boots and accidentally leaves them behind. His main concern might have been blood and how he could remove her from the place without leaving behind a bloody crime scene. To us the underwear put back on her inside out is a sign of panic and haste in his motions to get the body out of the crime scene. This scenario also explains just a spot of blood on Amy’s underwear. It is also possible that the killer doesn’t know his way around Ashland at all. Gets in his car and just drives around aimlessly while thinking about what to do next. Please read our blog “The Ziccardi Letter” for more information on this theory. Let’s all keep an open mind on all theories that are rooted in logical thought.

Rest in Peace Amy,

Blaze

Different Angles

Hello and thank you for joining us. My name is Kai. I am one of the investigators working the case and a specialist in cult based homicide. As many of you know, many believe that Amy’s murder had something to do with the cult. I lead a sub group of researchers within our team in the possibility of cult activity in this case. I will be posting insights on our findings as we dig deep into this angle of the case. We will cover in detail the house on county road 500 and the history of the occult in Ashland County. As a group, we all have the same intention. We would like to see justice for Amy Mihaljevic.  All angles must be explored.

Thank You for your interest,

Kai

Why Robert Ivan Nichols is interesting and why he is not

Anytime you have someone steal an identity and live as someone else the question of why is going to come up. In Nichols case he stole the identity of Joseph Newton Chandler, a young boy who died in a car accident with his family. Now, if we were to buy into the composite sketch, this man above all others fits it. Nose, top lip, hair, height, weight, upper eyelid shape, jaw structure. Investigation reveals he does match many aspects of the official profile and was geographically in striking range. He also dressed the same. This was an introverted and strange man who took his own life in Eastlake Ohio in 2002.

Why we like him:

1) Reports of him being treated for an injury to his penis he claimed happened while masturbating with a vacuum cleaner. It has been our long standing thought that Amy wasn’t intended to be killed. We believe she was taken for sexual reasons and was to be set free. Enter the injured penis. He forces himself on Amy orally, Amy being the fighter she was, bites down. The molester panics and grabs anything he can find and strikes Amy in the head to get her to release. We are in the process of investigating this alleged injury with Lake West Hospital in Willoughby Ohio.

2) Like it was just mentioned. If the composite holds any water whatsoever this would be our guy hands down. The round glasses could have been kept through his years and used as part of his disguise. To us those glasses are critical in the composites if we give them credence

3) Living as a hermit for a very long time and partaking in odd behaviours like listening to white noise for hours on end.

4) Location. Although some 40 minutes away from Bay Village he was well within striking distance. This man would drive all over the country and go missing for weeks at a time.

5) He committed suicide

6) He worked for GM at one time designing cooling systems for race cars in Dearborn Michigan.. Mark Mihaljevic worked as a district service manager for Buick. Although the emplyment dates of Nichols and Mark Mihaljevic do not line up directly that does not mean there wasn’t some sort of connection established at some point.

7) He was highly intelligent

Why we don’t like Nichols:

1) We thus far, cannot establish a link between Nichols, Bay Village or Ashland County

2) Has no history of sexual crime living under either of the identities

3) Perhaps too intelligent to plan a mid day abduction and since he was socially margainilised, it is unlikely he’d go into a public place where he could be seen to abduct Amy. He wanted to live unrecognized. That however can go both ways.

Eyewitness Accounts: The impossible description?

20180909_041446

Well everybody. This will be short and to the point. If this photo taken from the Cuyahoga County site PDF file is accurate, it is this groups opinion that all that can be derived from the first hand accounts composite sketch, is race gender, glasses or no glasses, clothing colors and type and a very rough guess of age. This group will not give credence to the composite sketch for two reasons:

1) The distance is simply too great. Even adults would have a hard time describing facial features from this distance. The composite is based on memory recall of two 10yr old children from a good 50 feet away.

2) This person was likely disguised somewhat and likely doesn’t look anything like the composite in the present. Furthermore the person’s age also puts them in the 65 to 75 range. The people who did know this person in their younger years when they could have resembled the sketch are probably now deceased, so they obviously can’t help much.Screenshot_20180902-072526_Write on PDF Look at the photo and decide for yourself.

The Ziccardi Letter

As promised we will not hold back information to try to end up as the heroes.

We want this case solved. Period. Here is a letter from a woman in Rocky River that made some startling claims.  Our team uncovered this letter in a deep web search  that no one has apparently seen. We have turned this letter in to Torsney, Huffman, Renner  and other investigators as well. At first glance our impression was, It is all over the place. Then we set out to check the info as stated within. There are several errors by the writer herself. There are address discrepancies. The address given is not on W 148th St. as Cavanaugh park is across the road from W 150th St. There is no 5233 W 148th St. So the address might be 5233 W 150th St. Brook Park Ohio.  If she claims to have seen Amy’s belongings you better bet we listened. At first I will admit that we were skeptical. A background check on the revised property address led us to several names consistent with that of housekeepers in motels.  This property also appears to have been a rental and that is consistent to the stated information in the letter. Indian and Hispanic heritage show during research. Names like Reyes, Diaz and Garcia. If you are offended and believe we are stereotyping,  we aren’t sorry and you bet your ass we are! As stated in the other blog post, we aren’t dealing with the tooth fairy here. It is commonplace in criminal investigation to do so. Like it or not, it has its place in profiling. Fact is, many Hispanics take jobs as housekeepers in the hospitality industry. Point is this. This letter as investigated by us led us to possible connections to the case. The motel is gone and demolished as stated. Letters such as this one are immensely important. She states things that check out. We don’t believe Ruth’s real name is Diaz and (Ruth may be her middle name) James had stated her name as Ruth Diaz and he may have his reasons for the alias but if Ruth’s real name is Diaz, well? What if Ruth was one of the motel workers? Are we accusing Ruth? Of course not, she was great to Amy. Doesn’t mean there isn’t a connection there! Here is the letter. Decide for yourself. If viewing on cell phone, swipe the photo of the letter to expand it. There are things about this letter that may prove important to the case. It appears this letter was written in a period of emotional restlessness and it was not published on the web very long. Efforts to contact Sarah have thus far been unsuccessful.

Who we are and why we are here

Hello and thank you for being here with us. I am Blaze, One of the writers of this blog. Our team will post individually as information becomes available  We are a group of investigators. Some of us are interested in solving homicide crimes and some of us are here only to solve the case of Amy Mihaljevic. We have investigators with specialized knowledge in several different targeted areas. Together we have more than 25 years of our personal time invested in this case. The goal is simple and we are one within it and that is to bring those responsible for Amy’s senseless and cowardly murder to justice. This blog will be raw and uncensored. We will not hold back emotion, passion and sheer zeal in our pursuit to accomplish the task at hand.

We are not writing books, there will be no donate button. We do not care about rewards or personal accolades. We are here to be the voice of Amy, We will fearlessly investigate this case leaving no stone unturned.

In this blog we will publish our findings based on facts or evidence discovered. We also welcome ideas and even theories different from our own. The official investigation has gone on too long so it has become apparent to us the time to strike is now.

We will ask questions and lots of them. We welcome feedback even if you do not agree with our content.

Things could get vulgar and emotional. We aren’t dealing with the tooth fairy here. We are dealing with a sexual predator who deserves nothing less than to be treated as such. We will not kindly ask the killer or killers to turn themselves in. It is clear that the cowardly nature of the person or persons responsible simply do not have the balls to come forward and confess to stop the 29 years of pain to the family, friends and all good Samaritans and loving people of Northeast Ohio and abroad.

We will ask the questions that no one to this point has asked. We are not scared or intimidated. With over 20 years of combined civil service under our belts, we will ask the questions to anyone deserving of being asked those questions without any regard for public status or social position. Our investigative unit is growing and always looking to add intelligence to the team.

We are here for decency and doing the right things.  Most importantly, We are here for you Amy.  Mark, Jason, family and friends. We know what you went through and we offer you not only our condolences but a promise to never give up until justice is served.

To the killer and all associated with this crime, This family loved that girl that you cowardly stole the life of. It was in your best interest to leave a fantasy as a fantasy. as I’m sure you already know though don’t ya?. That little girl fought you like hell, she didn’t like you much and quite frankly we don’t like you much either. We do not rest. You will not rest in peace. Once you are caught and you will be, It is still not even Steven. You have 29 years of karma to pay.

Thank You to all who care and participate. This is all about Amy and family. Together we will accomplish the seemingly impossible.

Sincerely,

Blaze
