This is a subject we’ve been looking into quietly on our private Facebook page.
Look for a much more detailed post about why we are questioning this.
In the meantime, here is one of the first photos taken from the body location on Feb 8th 1990.
We want you to focus on the density of the vegetation. Amy was placed in the second row of weeds face down and recessed into the weeds. An even taller more dense row of weeds lined the ditch. Amy was placed behind that vegetation. In this pic Amy’s clothing can barely be seen and this is with the camera being in the field with Amy’s body. How did Seabold spot Amy through all this?
Look for a detailed post soon on this subject. Till then, imagine you are on 1181 jogging. Would you have spotted Amy’s body?
Seabold also spotted the body before full sunrise. Sunrise was at 7:33am. Seabold somehow spotted the body in less than full daylight and through all this thick vegetation.
On a side note. If you were not aware, Janet Seabold lived on the corner of 1281 and 126. If you draw a straight line out Seabold’s back door you’d end up at nearly the exact spot Amy was found.
The Amy Army will be releasing some of the information we have learned in our 7 years of team investigations. The data we are planning to release will include but not limited to the following:
POI’s we’ve discovered and investigated. We will not name them but will give the data showing why they were interesting to us.
Locations of interest and why
Information regarding Henry Newell Jr and the child apprentice.
The Nova House
Why we believed we had the maker of the curtain identified
The posting of data transfer emails to BVPD.
Please understand we have to tread lightly. While it is our desire to keep fresh information in Amy’s case flowing to the public, we also do not wish to hurt the official investigation by releasing critical information. Some of the POI’s we’ve discovered are very compelling and while we may mention them when we release the infornation, we still will not name them. About 25% of our information has been posted to this blog.
We continue to work diligently on Amy’s case.
Please remember as well that we are 100% volunteer and we all maintain full time jobs. Something as simple as putting out a blog post can take hours. So if you see this blog go a couple months without a post, that is the reason.
We are all in and will be working on this till the case is solved
Thirty five years ago today. A person or persons abducted and stole the life of Amy Renee Mihaljevic. Those responsible stole more than Amy’s life on October 27, 1989, they stole the many memories the Mihaljevic family would’ve made with Amy, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts that can never truly heal and a community who felt their pain in the search of answers. It affected all of us. This post is a call for unity. United we stand. Divided we fall. Friend or Foe, if you want answers and the truth in the Mihaljevic case, we are on the same team. To anyone who has spent time trying to help, thank you. To those who submitted information and tips, thank you. To those who participated in the fund raisers, thank you. To the BVPD, FBI and the official investigation, thank you. To those working to keep the memory of Amy alive, thank you. To my Amy Army team that has sacrificed so much to do this, thank you. To all former members of the Amy Army, thank you.
We all have different ideas, opinions and levels of sentiment in this case. Many times this leads to bickering, arguments and personal attacks amongst us that passionately search for the answers. That is ok, families fight sometimes. So today, We ask that we unify as one big family. Forgive our brothers and sisters for things said in the past in regards to this case. There is only one enemy, those responsible for taking Amy’s life. Let’s unify behind that cause and get this case solved, as we are all part of Amy’s Army.
Rest In Peace Amy, we’ve got it from here. We are all in pursuit of your killer.
As many of you have seen, a post from the Sandusky Register about a man that was arrested on multiple charges and he “may” have been questioned by the official investigation. This man told people he was and seemed to be quite proud of it. This man was entered into our database in early 2019 as somebody with residency in both Bay Village and the area Amy’s body was found. We will not be releasing his name as he has not been charged with the crimes against Amy. We will however give you some compelling facts about this man. We turned in information on this man last year to BVPD. Det Elish told us they are familiar with his name but he did not disclose whether this man was brought in for questioning. He resided in Bay Village in 1989. His backyard was right next to Holly Hill as you see in this photo.
Let us remember that a subdivision was built on the land where Holly Hill once was. How far Holly Hill’s property extended is unknown at this time.
This 1994 aerial shot shows the field between the POI’s Bay Village home and distance to Holly Hill
Now a story from someone with direct interaction with this man. His real name is not Dick.
We have no opinion of the man other than he fits what we are looking for. The horse connection is there and he does look like the composite sketch. He is the right age. He has the connections to both areas. He has a history of violence and the correct mentality, alleged interest in much younger females. He has a massive short temper and there are two sides to this guy, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Definitely manipulative. He dresses the same as the unknown male seen talking to Amy at Bay Square. Being so close to Holly Hill and so heavily into horses, we can’t help but believe he probably was there for any number of horse related reasons at some point. Perhaps he knew people at Holly Hill. That is unknown at this time but we are investigating it. Now for his appearance. His hair was either very dark brown or black in 1989 and the style he’s worn has been fairly consistent through the years with the same forward swept onto the forehead styling as the composite sketches. To our eyes he looks like a mashup up of both conposites.
The charges of his arrest in Norwalk
A very compelling POI indeed. This is all we are releasing at this time. As of this moment this man has not been charged with crimes against Amy Mihaljevic. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. He is as good a candidate as any we’ve investigated. Are we looking at the face of the man that abducted Amy? Time will tell.
Lastly he posts things for Callihan’s corner store in Nova. We mentioned them in the last post. Also, one of the Callihan’s boarded a house at his horse farm. Interesting.
This is a public plea to BVPD and FBI to search and forensically examine the property at 919 US Highway 224 in Nova. This property is slated for destruction under the nuissance property initiative of Ashland County and time is of the essence. We have done a great amount of investigation on this property and feel it is as good a candidate as any for an additional crime scene. I’m not going to go into great detail but this property is currently owned by the Callihan’s. The same family who operate Callihan’s corner store just across the street from this property. This is the former Reed House Restaurant, the same restaurant that was once claimed to hold a safe containing a film showing Amy. There was also talk of a Pastor from Bay Village that was seen here on the morning of Saturday Oct 28,1989 (Day after abduction) or on Feb 9th, 1990(Day after Amy’s body was found, we’ve heard both dates). Kelly Callihan (male deceased) was born in Bay Village and grew up in Avon Lake. We believe Kelly’s brother still resides in Bay Village and his wife works for the Bay Village board of education. The Callihan’s acquired this property long after Amy. However, earlier sales transfer show this property was sold to Debra Goss on Dec 6, 1989. We are interested in locations near the body location that changed hands around the time of the crime. This property was originally a hotel. The structure would later become the Reed House Restaurant (Nanabelle Reed-Rudd) and later run by Cy and Effie Swineford. There are many people within the Callihan owned properties that are of interest to us. Again, I’m not getting into the extreme details. This property is in our “Hot Zone”.The area shown here in this photo shows the area we believe holds the highest probability of being involved if the murder occurred local to the body location on Co Rd 1181.
This “Hot Zone” was established after years of investigation into the people and the dynamics of the area. There is far too much information to write out for this area that would make sense if you don’t have the supporting details. Again, everyone knows everyone in this area and many of these people are related and will alibi each other out, especially if this is a cult killing.
This post was written as a plea to Law Enforcement to at least go have a look before this property becomes yet another property of interest on Us Highway 224 that is gone forever. The nuissance property initiative is actively looking to bulldoze this property. If there is nothing, move on. Wouldn’t hurt to know for sure before it is too late to go look.
This is our opinion on today’s news. It is significant in comparison to any other previously known DNA in Amy’s case.
They now have nuclear DNA. This nuclear DNA is from a male subject. Previously they were working with degraded MTDNA of a small amount which could only eliminate people. The discovery of Nuclear DNA, even if the sample is too small for a complete profile, will lead to a suspect. From there, a case on that suspect will be built out. The technology is making leaps and bounds every year. The skeptic’s are already talking on the internet. “This happens every year at this time”. Things of that nature. Well, this has never happened in the history of this case. This is the first time nuclear DNA has been found. The speed of LE in a case such as Amy’s, that, largely relies on DNA technology, cannot magically speed ahead of that technology. Like it or hate it, it is the nature of investigations and technology. I personally feel, this is what we have all been waiting for. It’s no time to relax. It’s time to put it all together. A case cannot have too much evidence. It is our hope that our information has helped this case. We hope that now that this nuclear DNA has been discovered that some of our information helps tie it all together. This case needed this DNA hit to move forward. We strongly urge you, if you have information to keep submitting it! Do not stop! It’s over when there is a conviction of all responsible. Whether its one person or a group. Keep Pushing!
We will get in touch again with CeCe Moore and get her opinion on today’s news.
*Update* After speaking with our members who are active Law Enforcement, their general consensus is, if they’ve released information like this to the public, they are likely further ahead in the process than the public knows.
Lastly, They are finally starting to talk about the 3rd piece of evidence. Not the curtain or the blanket but a 3rd piece that may contain the suspect’s hair. We had heard PD chatter in regards to this third object. We are glad to hear it was more than a rumor. Let us all hope, all the evidence comes together and ends this nightmare case.
Today was a big deal. Nuclear DNA! THIS WILL LEAD TO THE SOLVING OF THIS CASE. It may take some time but this was the most promising news in Amy’s case to date!
In this post we will supply the basic facts of the curtain and our investigation into the textile that is believed to have been used to transport Amy’s body to Wilbur Salyer’s farm property on Co Rd 1181.
Dimensions:
Height: 68″ comprised of two sections. One Vertical pattern section of approximately 58″. One Horizontal pattern section sewn to the top of the vertical section of approximately 10″. The height measurement is based on the assumption that the tabs are not included in overall height measurement. We will clarify with Det Elish and update accordingly.
Width: 27″
Tabs: 5 tabs approximately 5″ in height(folded) to create a loop. 5, 10″ strips were cut to create the tabs. The tabs are spaced unevenly across the top width of the curtain with the edges of the outer most tabs attached nearly flush with the outside edge of the curtain. The second tab from the left (when viewing the curtain from the front) has been removed and cleaned by the official investigation to obtain a more accurate analysis of the color of the original textile. The tabs appear to be made from the same textile as the body of the curtain.
Color: Believed to be Avacado Green but our research has discovered that multiple shades of green are possible based on the color of the laundered tab.
Material: Colorfast cotton. This was an important detail mostly overlooked in discussion about the curtain in the media and on the internet. The reason it is important will be explained in a moment.
Manufactured quilt pattern type: Longarm pantograph. The specific name of the pattern used on the curtain is uncertain.
Binding: The top and bottom are bound. The sides do not have binding.
Misc observed markings: Evidence markings with permanent black marker. This appears in the form of evidence cataloging numbers and what appear to be multiple markings indicating areas of specific interest. There are two square cut sections missing from the right section of the curtain. These cuts ‘appear’ to have been made by the official investigation for sample analysis.
Our quest to learn more about the quilted pattern of the curtain has taken us from multiple seamstresses to the US Army to military collectors to fabric stores and suppliers to our gradual obtainment of ten years of vintage JCPenney and Sears catalogs dating from 1965 to 1975.
Through all of this research we were only able to find one exact match of the curtain pattern and a household product. The second closest textile was military from the Vietnam Era. This is where the cotton fabric the curtain was made out of becomes crucial. In the household product (Bedspread) we found that it had the same quilt pattern but the material was rayon, not cotton. In the military products (Poncho Liners) the material was either 100% polyester or a polyester blend. This doesn’t mean that there isn’t a manufactured product out there that fits the curtain’s material and quilt pattern perfectly. In fact it’s likely but we have not discovered it yet.
The following picture shows the curtain evidence as it was sewn with the pattern horizontal on top and vertical on the bottom.
Next you will see an element that makes this quilt pattern unique. The ends of the ‘holly’ shapes are open to the segments next to them.
Now we see the bedspead from the 1971 JCPenney fall winter catalog. The color has been altered in our photo for comparison purposes. You will see the holly shape has the same open ends.
Another observation of the curtain quilt pattern is that the distances of the open sections of ‘holly’ appear to be inconsistent and not completely uniform like you’d expect to see in a professionally manufactured product. The open sections appear to be wider in some sections of the curtain than others. It could also be photographic illusion. Based on this observation though, we have to at least consider that the entire curtain and quilted textile it originated from was handmade albeit much more likely the textile used to make the curtain was store bought. If the longarm quilting is done by an amateur this can either be a plus or a minus in terms of investigation to the origin of the curtain. If the main body of the curtain is manufactured, it means it could be traceable but it also means it could’ve changed hands any number of times via garage sale, flea markets and a host of other ways where the seller wouldn’t know the buyer and vice versa. If it is done at a home by an amateur longarm seamstress it makes it even more unique but 100 times harder to track. The maker would have to see it and come forward to begin a traceable thread on how the quilted textile became a curtain. Given the fact that most quilters are middle to senior aged females, the age of the curtain and time since it was made, this coming forward is highly unlikely due to the maker’s age alone. Even if the curtain maker is still alive, they would have to be willing to come forward with that information. This also doesn’t take into consideration that the maker of the curtain even knows about Amy’s case or may know and/or is related to someone they know who had the curtain who was directly involved with the crime. Again, they would have to come forward.
This next picture is the page of the JCPenney Catalog where the exact quilting pattern was found. Notice the option for the “lime’ green. This green is very similar to the green of the laundered tab mentioned earlier. We must also keep in mind when viewing the laundered tab that the curtain is old, faded and used and a direct color match is not possible. Again though, it’s not an exact match because the bedspread is rayon and the curtain is cotton.
Now let’s take a look at the Vietnam Era M-65 jacket liner. You’ll notice the ‘holly’ ends are completed sealed by the wave stitch pattern. These liners do not have the dimensions necessary to construct the curtain. They are also, not cotton.
Now we get into the Vietnam Era poncho liners. We have not found a poncho liner liner made out of cotton or one with the curtains quilt pattern. Here is the closest we found. The quilt pattern on this poncho liner appears to be a quilt pattern called the single onion or a variant of it. It’s also important to note that most early solid color textiles from the Vietnam Era were made in a color called Olive Drab. Although the dimensions of the poncho liner fit nearly perfect to the curtain, the similarity ends there as the point of the liner is to keep the occupant warm and dry. Since cotton is absorbant, this would not be a favorable material to construct the poncho liners from. Outside of someone back home making one out of cotton unaware they aren’t supposed to be made from cotton to send to their loved one in Vietnam, the poncho liner is all but eliminated as a possibility. Here is the poncho liner showing the incorrect quilt pattern.
Here is a closeup of the marker used on the curtain.
Here is the back of the curtain.
All this being said. After the many hours of research into the curtain’s material and quilt pattern, the majority of us have come up with the following conclusion.
The curtain is as advertised by the official investigation. A manufactured product that was hand made into a curtain. Because it is made from cotton this means other things as well that speak to its usage or intended purpose as a curtain. It’s likely not a shower curtain because its water absorbant. While there are some showers that have exactly the same door dimensions as the curtain, water absorption alone would make it less likely. It would take a long time to dry as well. Since the curtain is quickly made, it would seem to be a matter of function over form. This line of thinking aligns well with a door covering of a camper. Camper doors in the late 70’s were very close in dimensions to the curtain. Perhaps the camper owner wanted the door open to ventilate or help keep bugs out without sealing the camper with the camper door. Most campers have an inner screen door but that’s assuming it’s a well kept or newer camper. Remember that originally it was said that the camel colored fibers found on Amy came from a 1979 Ford Van or Camper. Here is the RV door of the vehicle we are currently tracking.
While the potential use of this curtain is nearly unlimited we know two things. It was hanging and it did so in a place where aesthetics did not matter. This curtain is truly function over form. We will inquire with Det Elish again about the materials of the curtain. We’ll update this post with Det Elish’s response.
Lastly we will reiterate what we said in our YouTube video on the body. Amy did not decompose within this curtain or the blanket. Since the curtain, sans the one tab obviously remain uncleaned for forensic analysis and both the curtain and the blanket are free from the massive staining that a body would produce during the putrification stage of decomposition, it scientifically proves that the curtain and the blanket were used to conceal Amy’s body for transport only. Unless the textiles were placed along 1181 as part of a frame up. Ponder that. The Jacket, curtain and blanket all lying in the ditch, about 1000ft from the body. How convenient. Why wouldn’t they just burn them? Ponder that. THEY WANTED ALL OF IT TO BE FOUND
The team is very busy working multiple threads. Will try to update as soon as possible. There is a ton of new information and many new connections made. Older leads, locations, groups of people revisted, new POI’s and angles never before explored. Some of the older leads we revisted revealed some compelling data based on what we’ve learned since then. Some of it can be shared, some of it cannot. Rest easy knowing that Amy’s case is always being worked on. We know that many of you are frustrated with the official investigation. Please remember that they are exploring science more so now than ever before. Each submission of hairs, fibers or whatever materials takes quite a bit of time. We cannot supply BVPD with science or push them to hurry it along to appease the public. We can only provide data. The hope is, once they have some positive DNA returns, that their DNA data will be combined with all the data we have supplied, which has been a vast amount of information, thus, creating results.
Considering doing a live Q&A on our YouTube channel. Let us know if that’s something you might be interested in. With all the misinformation being put out there by AI driven true crime videos, it’d be nice to see some new content on YouTube that is factual. We’ve asked Profiler John Kelly to do Amy’s case. We’ve reached out to Megyn Kelly as well since she does dabble from time to time with true crime cases. No promises from anyone but the effort has been made. Hopefully they will help us out. We want broader exposure for Amy’s case. In the meantime, we will be busy doing field work. Currently, we are tracking a vehicle, obtaining more out of state documents, droning new areas and are considering to begin interviewing people. Thats a tough one though. We will talk to LE about it first. We do not want to stomp on their toes or diminish efforts they themselves are pursuing. We have a good relationship with LE and would like to keep it that way. Doesn’t mean we won’t submit data on people from within their own organization. In fact, we’ve done this multiple times. We find it and submit it. Doesn’t matter to us who it is if we find something interesting. More coming as soon as possible. The next posting will be extensive.
Efforts have been steady within the Amy Army despite the relatively low amount of blog entries. To be honest, the deeper we get into our investigations, the harder it is becoming to share information publicly. We will still try to keep you informed but not at the expense of case integrity.
In the past few months we have discovered no less than 10 new persons of interest. One of which has never been mentioned or looked into and he was living in Bay Village the whole time. Looks very much like the composite but no one would suspect him. He worked at the same company as Bill McClellan ( The most recent BVPD POI ). He also worked at the same company as the daughter of “witnesses” in 1990 on Co Rd 1181 which ended up yielding what we call the “Rocky Balboa” sketch. That company was very close to Bassett Rd and under a mile to the Mihaljevic’s back door. This POI volunteered a lot at a place Amy visited frequently. It wasn’t the nature center. This person is directly related to a huge person in this case. You cannot hear the story of Amy’s case without hearing of this person. Obviously we are holding back but thats all we can give at this time. We are continuing to investigate these new POI’s feverishly. We have already submitted the data to BVPD on several of them.
More Nova House data has been uncovered. We remain very interested in the house that once stood at 1243 US Highway 224 in Nova. It burned via arson for a reason. As stated before we have obtained a complete rental history. We know way more about the Nova House than we have publicly shared. Who the families were. Who their friends were. Where they spent time. Where they worked. How that data intersects with other people and locations in that direct area that we have written about here on this blog. It’s all very interesting. After Amy’s case is solved we will do a public data dump and release the contents of our investigation. Then and only then will the public know just how much work has gone into this effort to bring justice for Amy.
The master list of people who lived in both Bay Village and the body area has been updated within our database. It is now more date specific and has a sub category within it that displays extended family. Example Joe Smith lived in Bay Village in October 1989. Joe himself didn’t live in the body area, but his family did. Or John Jones who lived in the body area but not Bay Village, but his family did. One of the biggest names in the Nova Ohio area was born in Bay Village, lived in Avon and moved to Nova. Again, we wont publish names for case integrity. Lets just say the location of this family is close to several key locations along US Highway 224 in Nova.
It’s interesting that when you spell AVON backwards, you get NOVA.
The “pastor house” in Bay Village as we call it is being looked into again. This house in Bay’s northwest sector houses the Pastor’s that work for a well known church in Bay Village. Wouldn’t seem like much accept one of them is related to deceased Ashland Sheriff Deputy Richard Dilgard. The same deputy who spent a lot of time in cult related investigations within Ashland County. Then this deputy’s family is listed at a house in Ashland that looks like a house from the outside but is factually a Wiccan Church. The pastor that is related has been posted here before. He looks like the sketch as well. The subjects of Wicca, Witchcraft and Satanic cults is always in our minds as we push on. Why? Because the indications and facts of this case point in that direction more than any other single direction. We have covered this in detail. Most recently, the sister of the Child Apprentice posted a picture of one of their family gatherings. Wholesome get together, lots of food, smiling faces and a big ol’ red Satanic Pentagram right on the wall behind them. Unbelievable! This family mentions God and Jesus constantly yet there’s the big ol’ red inverted pentagram. The cult angle ties into so many of the people and locations we’ve spoken about. If you are one of those who says, “how is this not solved?” You’d really be perplexed if you knew what what we know. We share everything with BVPD. They share next to nothing with us. We have practically begged them to let us into what they have and combine their data with ours. We are confident that if that happened, it’d be a short path to the answers in this case. There is simply too much data to not correlate the missing link. Combined with them, this case is over. Seperate, it’ll still get solved, it’ll just take way longer. Either way, we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. This case will be solved. It is a mathematical certainty.
